This made me tear up. I was the parentified oldest child, had a completely different childhood than my siblings did. I felt isolated and like I had to grow up quicker. Now I own and run two successful small businesses and have established healthy boundaries which means I’m currently not speaking to some family. They don’t understand but I don’t care. I feel at peace finally.
