Total cost: £8,500 💷 If I’d paid the £40,000 outright, that car would be worth £24,000 in 2 years. £16,000 lost to depreciation 💷 That same £40,000 left invested at 8% would have grown to £46,656. Another £6,656 in gains gone 💥 Buying outright actually costs £22,656. Leasing costs £8,500. Net saving: £14,156, by not tying my capital to a depreciating asset.
