Day 4 of my Thanksgiving side series! Recipe here🍽️ This gravy recipe is universal. You can use beef, chicken, or turkey drippings. Store bought broths work well too. You can even use the drippings from a pork roast! It’s truly so flexible. If you need to make large batch of gravy, you can always double or even triple this recipe as needed. Ingredients 2 tablespoons salted butter 2 tablespoons all purpose flour 1 cup drippings or broth Salt to taste if needed Melt the butter over low medium heat. Add the flour and whisk until the mixture is smooth. Wait for the edges to bubble and whisk constantly for 2 mins to cook the flour. Slowly add a little broth/drippings at a time while stirring until everything is combined. Turn the heat up to medium and wait for the edges to start bubbling. When the edges start to bubble, this will cause the gravy to thicken. Keep stirring to keep the gravy from burning. Whisk constantly until the gravy reaches the consistency that you like then turn off the heat. Taste the gravy and add salt if you need to. It will continue to thicken as it cools so keep that in mind. If it happens to be too thick add a little splash of broth to thin it out.
