Everyones complaining about it feeling so disconnected from the games. Im sorry but Resident Evil 7 was literally so disconnected from the mainline series and it was a spectacular game. That is how Im viewing this, its own story, within the universe.

I don’t think anyone understands that it’s trying to do its OWN THING in the Resident Evil universe. It has its own original plot but keeping the vibe of the games. Like why are people hating this being original but praising RE7 even though it did the exact same thing?

It does not look like Resident Evil. That trailer, It's more of a horroic supernatural ghost movie or something..kinda new Silent Hill movie. But, let's give it a shot. I want a resident evil that is anchored to the actual game and where it is in a chronological order(E.g., the old RS game, RS biohazard, Village, Requiem, etc etc).

I don't understand the obsession with making movies so detached from their source material, it's not like anything after the Anderson movies were commercial hits, so why continue to throw the licencing rights at anyone that wants to make "their own thing"?

For those larpers and confused fans, the director is a huge fan of the games. He's not adapting any of the stories from the games. This movie is more so a love letter to the games. It will probably not have any characters from the games and this movie focuses on one guy going from point A to point B. I think this film takes place during re2.
