When I asked about the standard 5% card payment tax rate, I was first told the system was down, then told they don’t have a card machine at all. The first receipt provided had NO PRA QR code. Only after I specifically asked did they bring one — but scanning it on the PRA app returned “No data found against this PRA invoice number,” despite the NTN number being registered. This is a serious compliance red flag. When I pointed this out, instead of resolving the issue properly, they brought an “updated” receipt with the exact same QR code and invoice number — essentially the same invalid receipt. They then demanded I pay the 5% extra regardless, said there were “no other options,” and held us there for over 30 minutes. The staff was rude and dismissive when questioned about legitimate tax concerns. I have screenshots of everything. I strongly advise other customers to demand valid PRA receipts, verify QR codes on the PRA app before leaving, and report any discrepancies to the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) or PRA directly.
