It may not be seen or felt all the time, but we are there when it counts, when it’s visceral, and it’s forever consistent actions/behavior. Good is always there in the world, it can be caring, violent when it calls for it, and at its heart, compassionate and loving.

When I was 19 they told me I was on the verge of death and that I had cancer. I went thru hell and went to bed every night wondering if I would even wake up. But everyday I woke up, I smiled and chose gratitude over self pity. I never frowned or complained and remained disciplined. Fast forward to now and I’m cancer free for 5 years and in the best shape of my life. Have an amazing career and will be getting married this September. But I think about my battle and those who weren’t as lucky every single day. The most difficult chapters of our lives are the most important.
