Kids like going to school and socializing so t their peers and teachers are trained to teach so they can learn more things than you can teach.

You also don’t want to raise them in a bubble. We are living in a cruel world & they need real life experiences outside of being with you to really learn how to navigate life’s obstacles & hardships.

I can’t wrap my head around the system sometimes. It’s a rush every morning, then you get just a few hours together after school before it’s time for bed, and then you do it all over again, five days a week. It looks so repetitive and draining

As hard as it is to be a single, working, homeschooling mom of two, I’d MUCH rather do it everyday that put them back in school. My kids come first and the best thing for them is for me, their parent, to teach and raise them, not some strangers for half of the time.

And as a former public school teacher of almost 30 years, today’s public schools are so much different than the ones we grew up in. Sadly all of them teach kids to conform.

If u can, home school them. I have 5 sons. 4 went to public school. They all struggled. My last son has been home schooled. He's flourished! I not only teach him the academics, but life skills as well.

I would love this but with only 1 income I have to provide for them with no village , it’s nice to dream but reality this isn’t possible for most people

hi. i was 'unschooled' my whole life and although i am very knowledgeable when it comes to music and art and plants i only know very basic math, science, etc. i'm 23 and my girlfriend showed me a map yesterday and i couldn't name the continents and i cried and cried. do not do this. i have a master's degree in music now and still feel SO far behind because i don't have proper knowledge of other things i could use to find employment.

School would be better if they taught things that matter. Like how to buy a car, credit scores, how to pay back loans if you take one out, use a credit card correctly, how to utilize your savings for things that matter, ETC. a little bit of this and little bit of that.
