Spot on about Stewart Lee - smug, boring, self satisfied tosspot. One of my favourite Tommy Cooper moments was when a wooden duck was picking a card from the deck. To avoid suspicions of cheating, Tommy put a mask on the duck.

I actually remember that, I was a kid. I remember my mum "oh. gowd" My dad: "it's a part of the act,man. He'll jump up in min. When the red curtains tried to go over the top of him. You knew, think they pulled the program off. Didn't know till next day.

My dad saw Tommy Cooper live onstage in Abu Dhabi where he had a little white gate on two white posts that he’d walk through to go ‘back stage’ and prepare his next bit and then come back through the gate to do it. He was a genius one-liner comic. Two of his classics Last night I dreamed I ate a ten-pound marshmallow, and when I woke up the pillow was gone. Police arrested two kids yesterday, one was drinking battery acid, the other was eating fireworks. They charged one and let the other one off.
