Idk why they pushed joint hand writing so much, I never found it easier or faster. Stopped doing it the second I left primary.

Nah because they always wanted us to have such neat hand writing but once I reached sixth class I just started writing in print and my hand writing is so good.

Children are taught cursive because it helps develop fine motor skills and handwriting coordination. Writing letters requires attention and precision, strengthening finger muscles and coordination, and the connection between motor and visual contact, which makes it easier to retain information and develops attention. Cursive has many advantages, and I believe all children should start in cursive. How handwriting changes later in life is another matter entirely. But the foundation is important in any endeavor.🤷♂️

For reference, it’s in the national curriculum, so teachers have to follow it, you are graded on it when it comes to yr 6 SATS n shi.
