When I first heard about seed cycling, I honestly thought, "Can eating a few seeds really make a difference?" So, like I always do, I started digging into the research. The idea behind seed cycling is that different seeds may help support your body at different stages of your cycle. Flaxseeds and pumpkin seeds are usually eaten during the first half of the cycle. Flaxseeds contain natural plant compounds called lignans, which can interact with oestrogen in the body, while pumpkin seeds are rich in zinc, a mineral that's important for hormone health. In the second half of the cycle, people switch to sesame and sunflower seeds. Sesame seeds also contain lignans, and sunflower seeds are packed with vitamin E and selenium, nutrients that support your body's normal hormone function. Now, here's the important part... At the moment, there isn't strong scientific proof that seed cycling itself can balance oestrogen and progesterone or relieve menopause symptoms But there is good evidence that these seeds are full of fibre, healthy fats, vitamins and minerals that support your overall health. For me, that's reason enough to include them every day. Since adding more seeds to my meals, I've found it much easier to reach my fibre goal, I stay fuller for longer, and I'm snacking less. Whether that's because of seed cycling or simply because I'm eating more nutritious foods, it's become one of those simple habits that's easy to stick with. And sometimes, it's those small, consistent habits that make the biggest difference. #MenopauseHealth #Perimenopause #WomenOver40 #MenopauseJourney #WeightLossAfter40 #BloodSugarBalance #HormoneHealth #SeedCycling #HealthyHabits #GutHealth #HealthyEating #HealthyAging #MidlifeHealth #StrongerAfter40 #MenopauseWeightLoss #HacksandTips
