Potty trained my 19m old recently. Day 1 was terrible I almost gave up because he could not care less. Day 2 he magically woke up and decided to start using the toilet. Kids are so much smarted than we think!

No but mine’s 2 months younger than Celine and I was going to wean her off bottles and thought “it’s fine, Celine drinks bottles” and then saw you’re weaning her off. Then was thinking of potty training and thought “it’s fine, Celine’s not potty trained” and then saw this 😂 but I guess mine might be ready because she says poo when she poos but I’m scared to start aswell 😂 I think I’ll just start by reading books about potty training and then see from there

We just potty trained at 2.5 years old. Did the 3 day stay at home method where he was just in underwear’s and a top all day long. He did have a few accidents and still does (normal) but for the most part, he’s fully trained except at night. I still put a pull up at night and nap times. If she has good communication skills, I say go for it and get it done with. Let her choose her own underwear’s too, they usually love that. Goodluck!

Please do share some tips and keep us updated as well ... We are at the same stage 🫠 It is very exhausting esp backaches (Keep diaper free at times after she is done with poop) and keep her in cotton pantie plus keep on talking to her about potty and hygiene stuff .... If you need to peee and appreciate her everytime - tell me / haha be ready for accidents (Make sure you don't panic Infront of her instead say nice good job but we take our pants off and pee in potty ...

I started at 22 months because my daughter was showing signs she’s ready and occasionally using the potty. Portable potty is a game changer when we are out for long periods as they can’t hold their bladders too long. Almost one month in and I’d say we are 90% potty trained as has accidents occasionally which are expected at this age. We are using training undies as they make her feel wet but don’t make such a big mess. Whenever I use pull ups she feels comfortable and does it in them without telling me she needs to go. She has improved so much each day so just keep at it and at the start we used a rewards system when she did it on the potty. It takes time and patience but it’s worth it they are very smart at this age

Can I just say how proud I am of you starting the potty training process! I feel like I don’t hear or people starting before 2/2.5 years anymore!

What helped me is first preparing myself, to lower my expectations and to be calm at all costs! Secondly I bought stickers and every time she do it in the bathroom I would let her stick the sticker on the toilet with clapping and make it a BIG DEAL. and encouraging her always .. it takes a LOT of patience but you got it 🩵

you can buy potty training pants! And it’s such a life saver!! And also with the potty training seat try to get the ones with steps as my little ones were excited to climb the steps to the toilet which made them want to use the toilet

Get a foldable/portable toilet seat to keep in your bag for when you’re on the go and have access to a bathroom! I loved the portable toilet for when we were at a park or didn’t have access to a bathroom.

The first day is the hardest - just stay consistent. Don’t start and then give up. Go thru with it! Good luck!

The portable potty will be good inside at first, so it can follow her around from room to room! I’ve never potty trained a girl but my boys were successful at age 2, and I kept them naked allllll day. They would go to the portable potty using a timer. Hardest part is staying IN the house for 3-4 days to keep up with that consistency! Good luck mama!
