When someone pulls away, it’s so easy to assume it’s your fault. You start replaying things in your head like... “Did I come on too strong?” or “Maybe I should’ve said less…”. The problem is, before you know it, you’re bending over backwards trying to be more “understanding,” and “low-maintenance,” more easy to love. The reality is that's the people-pleasing side of you. It’s you trying to stay in control by taking the blame for their emotional distance-- especially when abandonment wounds are activated. What you have to remember is, a lot of avoidants pull away NOT because you did anything wrong, but because closeness triggers stuff they don’t know how to deal with. They've got their own issues. Their silence is about *their* capacity, not your worth, and it’s not your job to decode or fix that. Instead of taking their distance personally, try this: — Catch yourself in the spiral and pause before reacting — Remind yourself: “It’s not my issue, it's theirs

You don’t need to prove you’re safe to stay for. You don't need to accept the bare minimum to avoid feeling abandoned. The right people won’t need convincing to stick around. Drop a 💛 if you’re done taking the blame. #relationshipadvice #breakuprecovery #ex #nocontact #avoidant #lettinggo #psychologist #HealingJourney #movingon
