If you donate 75k, you’re only saving about 28k in taxes. And while it’s taking money from healthcare (hypothetically) it’s also taking from the war budget. So if I’m a rich person already paying a ton in taxes, I’d love the option to control where a portion of my funds go to benefit society rather than let the govt allocate it.

Tickets are not tax deductible as a service was received for the transaction. Donations are tax deductible.

I just see this Amy person constantly making it like doing anything related to Anna wintour or Vogue is like a crime against humanity or something.

We’re talking about corporate taxes here considering most of the tickets and tables sold are purchased by companies

It's not a 0 sum game. Donating to the arts allows artists to live and make more art. It doesn't take anything away from our social programs, mostly because we barely have any to begin with.

Designers purchase tables. The regular celebrities aren’t paying for any of this. And designers have a vested professional interest in keeping the Costume Institute up and running.

Before Anna took it over, there were $75 tickets to come AFTER the dinner, just for the dancing, and THAT was the *real* party, that was fun and exciting.

too many people including those in this video don't know how the met gala works. the tables are sponsored. celebrities are invited by Vogue and fashion designers to fill the tables. they do not buy tickets. If there are deductions it is for the corporate sponsors not individuals.
