maybe next time you should look at the RPM and it should be on 600 all the time if is over 600 it's a vacation line or socking air from a leak if it is lower then 600 it can be a spark plug or a bad connection or a bad coil.

I think you can buy new connectors for the coils and splice them in. and if you're having a catalyst code pop up fix it asap those year model 2.5s will suck cat materials back into the engine and destroy it.
