SPIDER COOKIE RECIPE *I tripled this recipe in the video For the Cookies: * 1 cup unsalted room temp butter (226g) * ¾ cup lightly packed dark brown sugar (153g) * ¾ cup granulated sugar(174g) * 1 room temp large egg * vanilla extract to taste * 2 ¼ cup all-purpose flour(312g) * 1 tbsp corn starch (8g) * 1 tsp fine salt (6g) * ¼ tsp baking soda (1g) * ½ tsp baking powder (2g) * ⅔ cup semi sweet chocolate chips (114g) For the Spiders: * extra chocolate chips for topping (4-5 per cookie) * ⅓ cup chocolate chips (for melting) (57g) * 1 tbsp coconut oil (14g) 1. In the bowl of a stand mixer w/ a paddle attachment (or an electric hand mixer), cream the room temp butter & both sugars until light & fluffy (~3-5 mins. on medium speed) 2. Add the egg and vanilla & mix until combined 3. Scrape the bowl down with a rubber spatula and continue mixing 4. In a separate bowl, whisk together all of the dry ingredients 5. Add the dry ingredients to the wet & mix until just combined 6. Add the chocolate chips until they're evenly distributed 7. Scoop the dough using a larger cookie dough scoop (this is a #20 scoop). You should get 12-14 cookies per batch 8. Place the cookies in an airtight container & refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight (overnight is preferred) 9. When you’re ready to bake, preheat the oven to 350℉, & line a baking sheet with parchment paper 10. Place the cookies a few inches apart from one another on the baking sheet & bake for 10-12 mins or until the edges are golden brown 11. While the cookies are still hot, gently push 4-5 chocolate chips on top of each cookie. I like to place them upside down so that the flat part is facing up 12. Allow the cookies to cool before adding the “legs” 13. In a small microwave-safe bowl, add the chocolate chips and coconut oil. Microwave for 30 seconds & stir until silky smooth. If you need to microwave them more, only do so in 10-second increments so that you don't burn it 14. Add the melted chocolate to a piping bag and cut a small tip off of the bag 15. Pipe four
