My brother was a case of SUDC. The doctor that worked on him for 4 hours retired right after because of how traumatizing it was. He still checks in with our family constantly. I never realized how hard it hits healthcare workers at all until then ❤️🩹❤️🩹

(ER tech here) As long as I live, I will never forget snatching a limp baby from her mama in the waiting room and running straight to the back and yelling for a provider. I think about her so often.

My baby had gbs meningitis at 12 days old. I saw nurses and doctors practically move mountains to take care of him. Basically, I learned very quickly that lots of attention from 12 people at a time at the hospital is not a good thing at all.

The e-bike trend is crazy, there is 10-12 year olds in my neighborhood with bikes that go over 20 miles per hour just blasting through the neighborhood, they’re kids so they have no concept of road rules and they are typically wearing shorts and tanks tops with no helmets cause we live in az. It’s so scary.

I had an intubated DKA the other day in the PICU. Cerebral edema, pH was 6.8, sugar was over 1000. Blood pressure was 40/20 when she got to me. Good times.

Heavy on carrying in the baby. I catch my breath every time I’m in triage and I see someone walking in the door carrying one like that. And I never forgot any of the others 💔
