Once had a manager tell me to have “more urgency while working” I said “okay” and proceeded to work at the exact same pace. An hour-ish later he comes back and says something like “that’s better. Thank you” and I just said “okay.” They are so micromanage-y, it’s actually hilarious. Annoying af, but hilarious.

i worked at mcdonalds and i didn’t fill all the fryers, i made people wait ten seconds for hot fries, manager came over and dropped more fries so people wouldnt wait, but they became soggy

To me, if someone said I “need to have a sense of urgency” especially in a job I wasn’t confident in yet, would read to me like “you are doing a horrible job. How about you try not doing a horrible job?” I’ll end up going slower bc I’m sad now. I was trying my best. If my best isn’t good enough… then what’s the point
