@dirtandwinemom: Cut worms in the garden. These suckers literally just come and basically “cut” the plant at the base of the plant. Hence the name cutworm. Creating barriers helps prevent their damage! Wish I had though of it sooner. #garden #cutworm #gardenpests #gardening
My grandpa always wrapped the base of the stem in newspaper when planting.

my broccoli wilted and looked real depressed almost overnight. this was my culprit. I think it was a click beetle in the worm stage

Diatomaceous earth is what keeps the cut worms away from my plants. I get the food grade stuff not the pool stuff. It’s actually pretty cheap, we dust the chickens with it too

Do crushed egg shells. They won’t be able to pass it coz it’s rough. Will also give vitamins to your plans.
