I know a lot of people didn’t like the ending, but to me it felt heartbreaking in a beautiful way rather than simply “bad.” He didn’t leave because she wasn’t enough, he left because he had already made peace with his pain long before her. And despite all of that, he still loved her enough to want her to live fully, to live boldly, to just live well even without him. That’s what made the ending stay with me they changed each other forever, even if they weren’t meant to stay together forever.
