Why was Charlotte making the decisions?? Wasn’t Margaret the mistress of the house? Sounds like Charlotte was jealous of Eliza. I wonder of Robert ever cast an eye towards Eliza.

Do you take any recommendations? There’s a murder suicide from my small town in the midlands that has always baffled me.

She was soooo obviously set up. We will never know if Charolette poisoned the yeast or the sauce, but I’d put my money on her being the culprit. She was clearly jealous of Eliza for whatever reason. I have a feeling Charlotte was having an affair w/ one of the male apprentices. The apprentice either liked Eliza or Charlotte thought he did out of jealousy. She put enough poison in the meal to make everyone sick, but not enough to kill everyone. I’m not sure if the whole not letting her make the dumplings & then randomly deciding she could was part of the plan to make her look more guilty, but that would show premeditation & planning. Everything about this story smells fishy

thank you for sharing Eliza’s story. i think other than the unfair trial and unfair loss of her life the saddest thing is that this is still so common in today’s society. the rich getting away w murd3r & the poor barley having enough for a decent defense :(

So unfair - all witnesses should have been called and the judge was so terrible!
