Companies need to normalize compensating candidates for their time because the number of interviews, assessments, projects, etc. companies are asking for is insane. Like why does it take five different interviews, some of which are panel interviews, and multiple assessments?! I'm quick to remove myself if it seems excessive because that tells me their processes aren't efficient, they likely don't value their employee's time, and are indecisive. Also, I echo your recommendation to have a LI account... I have had recruiters reach out to me several times about jobs I ultimately accepted.
