He most likely bought you a natural diamond in his price range vs something like all the rings you’re seeing lately- large sized, lab made diamonds. I have a customer currently that is going with a smaller natural vs large lab that all his friends got. Be happy, he cared about the quality and got you something classic

It is a beautiful ring! Maybe not your style but he chose it. My engagement ring had a really, really small diamond. Married 62. Yes, I was a bit embarrassed but I loved him. Again, it is beautiful!
