y'all stop saying stuff like 'ur lit living people's dream' or 'js be grateful and enjoy it's bcz he prolly is but this could be a homesick post, being abroad for so long, living with a host family, not having a friend from home to laugh with or look back on things with is HARD, having to start over, learn a new language, and try to keep up with a whole different country's curriculum while also learning social norms is STRESSFUL. ntm the isolation he might feel among his peers. genuinely be more considerate

Guys u do realize that no matter how good it may sound being in his position not all the time it’s all sunshine and rainbows right? Yes it’s such a privilege to be spending your life in Japan to people who want it and even I want to experience that but if it’s not your hometown of course it’s not easy to get used to it especially with the new environment he’s surrounded in and swear, being homesick sucks. Instead of commenting about how he should be grateful about it, he is. He’s just showing us the side where it isn’t always smiles in situations like these. Js hope ure doing well there bro! 🫶🏻

People in the comments just don’t get it. If you haven’t gone through it yourself, you shouldn’t be talking. I myself went on a exchange year last year in Japan and what I went through wasn’t all pink and roses, I went through IT, I just didn’t fit in no matter how hard I tried. And unfortunately that’s just the way it is sometimes, it isn’t because we are ungrateful or didn’t tried hard enough, WE DOOO, that’s literally the whole reason we are able to go on a exchange program. Wether your experience is good or not depends on many things and OF COURSE not everything is up to us. It’s easy to judge others when you don’t know what they’ve been through.

It is not wrong in any way to feel homesick or lonely. Dream, opportunity, privilege, or not—it's completely normal to want home more than anything. Home is our place of rest when the world gets to be too much 😖

You are living a reality I would a hundred percent want to be living in. However, it’s SUPER understandable how stressful it probably is. There’s so much struggle for someone to completely switch the daily culture they’re used to and see another. There’s a whole new language, social norms, etc. People need to understand that reality isn’t anime, you don’t automatically get along with people and feel like you’re apart of the bigger crowd right away, there are so many struggles moving abroad. I hope it gets better for you bro.
