@h5_mamaventures: My dad worked his whole life for a retirement he never got to live. That changed everything for me. We sold our home, bought the family farm, and now we’re trying to build something that’s actually ours. No experience. Not a lot of money. Just the decision that we weren’t waiting anymore. If you’ve ever felt this pull you’re not alone. We’re figuring it out one day at a time. 🌾 #farmlife #firstyearfarming
Don’t feel bad for dad, he was providing for his family which was his greatest joy. Trust me, I’m a dad.

No matter if you worked all your life for retirement or you’re living on your own piece of land growing your own vegetables, nobody is guaranteed another day on earth

Your dad was doing what he loved which was providing for his family, that's why you're sitting where you are now. that's what most of us do, money is only a vehicle to get us to the end that's all.

I had a good friend who was retiring at 65. He got sick at 64 and 6 months. Didn’t make it to 65. I was in my 40s. He told me whatever I did to try and retired as soon I I could. So I started getting prepared then. My wife got sick in 2015 with cancer. 2 surgeries and treatments and many hospital visits. She retired after that and I did in 2019 at 60. We have enjoyed it so much. Headed to the lake tomorrow for a couple weeks!! Best of luck to y’all!!
