@thedanielleromano: This is really an intimate post for me to make but turning 20, an age I never thought I'd live to see, made me realize so much. You're worth so much and your life is precious. I struggled with depression, anxiety, and ADHD my entire life. I always felt left out, weird, and alone. It wasn't until I got much older that I realized, life is exactly what you make it. If you let the depression settle in and eat you alive, it wins. I wanted to end my life at ages 11 and 17. I am so thankful my attempts didn't work. I would've missed the job I wanted, meeting amazing people I now have the privilege of calling a friend, or the growth and becoming someone better. I would've missed my niece and nephew accomplishing so many different things, traveling to different places, and getting into college. Most importantly, I would've missed realizing that everyday is a new beginning and no day is the same unless you allow it to be. Get out of bed, write how you feel, make art, drive somewhere new, and take a deep breath. Everything bad will pass and one day you will be in my spot, looking back and realizing how much you've grown. so this is a happy late birthday to myself and hopefully this reached people who needed it.
