How did you get help? I’ve talked to two doctors and all they tell me is to wear compression socks. I do and then the swelling goes above the socks. I also believe I have it in my arms.

Doctors do not diagnose lipedema, they just call you fat and say it is probably just genetic. Then if you were to get diagnosed, none of lipedema treatments are insured, so you have to be hella rich to get treated or get liposuction or anything😐😔

I took all kinds of information and evidence that I have this to my GP. She had no clue what lipedema was and said it was just the way I’m built genetically. I just wanted a referral to a vascular doctor so that I could get diagnosed.

What do you expect if doctors don’t even recognise it ? I think most people work it out themselves they see something is not right so they have to look it up themselves by that time it’s a bit too late it’s advanced !!
