That’s a false generalization. Being widely liked doesn’t prove someone lacks principles it can mean they handle disagreement well and choose their battles. Controversy isn’t evidence of conviction, and popularity isn’t evidence of weakness. Loyalty shows up in actions under pressure, not in how many people dislike someone.

Plenty of people have strong views and still earn respect because they handle disagreement well. Being controversial isn’t proof of integrity, and being well-liked isn’t proof of weakness.
