u exchange them at his place in the morning? if so, why not just drop them off at school as usual and he picks them up after. kids sence your stress and hear what you say so its just as stressful for them

My oldest feels the same, she doesn’t feel 100% comfortable over there. She makes the best of it but she feels “home” is mom’s house. I just let her vent and support her.

As they get older. Ask them how they feel and how time sharing is with them? Kids prefer structure and as they grow, they would rather a week at a time at each home because of school work and studying differences at each home and the stress of back and forth

as a kid of divorce please let the kids have a say in who they want to be with when they’re a bit older. having to switch houses constantly was so exhausting you’re clearly their home. for stability they should be able to choose around 14-15 even younger if possible

We are going through the same thing with my step son and his mom. She just moved to another state and is 3.5 hours away. We meet halfway but this poor kid gets sooooo stressed. He’s in therapy, we talk about emotions and consent constantly. I wish I could scoop him up and take all his worries away. It’s so tough to see them go through it but they have a strong momma as well. No one talks about how hard and how much stress the kids go through in the transition of houses

It makes me so sad when kids get stressed out when having to go to the other parents house my daughter used to go to her dad‘s house on the weekends and would get dropped off on Monday mornings at the daycare and her teacher would always tell me that she woke up during nap time screaming from a night terror every single Monday and then she would do it again on Friday knowing that the weekend was coming and she’d have to go to her dad’s house😭
