@thevinylwaala: This album is an absolute masterpiece. It easily ranks as one of my favorite records from the 1980s, striking that perfect, strange balance between dark, disturbing themes and biting, dry comedy. The whole project just flows seamlessly from start to finish. Of course, you have the undeniable classic "There Is a Light That Never Goes Out," but tracks like "Some Girls Are Bigger Than Others" and "Frankly, Mr. Shankly" are just as essential to the experience. It’s a brilliantly cohesive album that works on every level. #thesmiths #alternativemusic #somegirlsarebiggerthanothers #80smusic #altmusic

My favorite album. It was released when I was 15. I still have my original cassette in its case and the Walkman I used to play it over and over. These are some of my prized collections.

jadehelmicecreamman :

I’m glad you highlighted the comedy, because people cast the smiths/Morrissey as the ultimate whiny music, but they’re missing that you really get the full range of the human experience from his lyrics, with real clever humor the entire time. The man is funny
