Portugal’s islands have a strange effect on people — one trip is never the end of the story. I originally came to Madeira for a short stay… that was over 3 years ago. Somehow, it turned into home 😅 Yes, the first thing that hits you is the scenery — cliffs dropping into the ocean, viewpoints around every corner, landscapes that don’t feel real. But what actually makes you stay is everything beyond that: a comfortable year-round climate, a calm lifestyle, genuinely kind and welcoming locals, and a sense of safety you feel every day. And then you discover the Azores. They’re relatively close, but the experience shifts completely. Still Portugal — but a different world. Here, nature feels less “polished.” More raw, more alive. Volcanic energy is everywhere, and the frequent rains — especially in winter — turn the islands into deep green landscapes you won’t see in Madeira. It’s wilder. Stronger. More unpredictable. There’s one question I keep getting in my DMs: “Can we split the trip — 4 days Madeira, 3 days Azores?” Short answer — no. If you want to truly understand both destinations, don’t rush it. Madeira deserves its own trip (you can even include Porto Santo), and the Azores should be a completely separate journey. There are 9 islands — and each one feels like a different destination. The ones I keep coming back to? São Miguel, Flores, Terceira, Corvo. After multiple trips and endless exploring, I put everything into a system that makes planning simple — INTERACTIVE GUIDES 🗺️ with DETAILED MAPS for each island. What’s inside: 📍 Handpicked spots worth your time 🥾 The most scenic hikes 🌿 Places most travelers miss 🗺️ Ready-built itineraries 💡 Useful tips you’ll actually need 📌 Exact GPS coordinates All of it is built into a mobile app with offline access — so you’re never dependent on internet while exploring. 🔗 Link in bio #TravelMap #PortugalTravel #Azores #Madeira #TravelGuides
