David Gilmour – Time (Live in Gdańsk, Poland, 2006) “Time,” originally released on Pink Floyd’s legendary album The Dark Side of the Moon (1973), received one of its most powerful modern interpretations during David Gilmour’s final On an Island Tour concert. This unforgettable performance was recorded on August 26, 2006, at the Gdańsk Shipyard in Gdańsk, Poland, in front of more than 50,000 fans during a concert celebrating the historic birthplace of the Solidarity movement. The performance was later released as Live in Gdańsk (2008). Joined by Richard Wright on keyboards—his final officially released live recording before his passing in 2008—along with Phil Manzanera, Guy Pratt, and the Polish Baltic Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Zbigniew Preisner, Gilmour transformed the Pink Floyd classic into an emotional and cinematic masterpiece. The orchestra adds a breathtaking new dimension while preserving the song’s timeless atmosphere. The Gdańsk concert marked the end of Gilmour’s 2006 tour and became one of the most celebrated live releases in the Pink Floyd universe. Recorded just weeks after the death of Syd Barrett and featuring Richard Wright for the last time on an official live release, the performance carries enormous historical and emotional significance for fans of the band. This isn’t just a live performance—it’s one of the most moving interpretations of a Pink Floyd classic, capturing David Gilmour and Richard Wright together for the final time on an unforgettable stage. #PinkFloyd #DavidGilmour #Time #LiveInGdansk #ProgressiveRock
