@bookswithamanda212: I wanted to share with you all what I’ve learned from people around me who are grieving because it’s easy to get awkward and uncomfortable, not sure what to say when someone brings up a person they’re grieving. But I’ve found that they’re bringing them up for a reason, hoping to make them feel alive again even if only for the moment through a memory. I’ve noticed how much brighter and lighter they become when you ask what that person was like, when you give them a chance for their heart to overflow with love by talking about them. (Not everyone grieves the same, so I’m sure some people avoid it at all cost, but they’re usually not the type to bring that person up) #grief #griefjourney #griefandloss #MentalHealth #healing
Grief is such a difficult thing. We do want to talk about our person, but the pain of thier loss will have us in tears. Thankfully, with time, those tears become tears of love. When I focused on her with loss in mind, I wanted to die. When I focused on her love with love in mind I allowed myself to live. It's been 18 months and the tears still fall and perhaps they always will. However, I can tell you about a love shared by two people and be filled with joy while doing it. Thank you for the words of this post.
