I’m not saying he’s a good guy either, but the whole “why are we selling it to foreigners?” argument makes no sense to me. Why didn’t an “English British man” buy it first then? The property was on the market, he had the money, and he bought it. That’s literally how buying and selling works. People only suddenly make it about nationality or race when they don’t like who bought it. If a British person bought it, nobody would even question it. So clearly the issue isn’t the sale itself. The UK has always had people from different backgrounds contributing to the economy, paying taxes, creating businesses, working in the NHS, buying homes, and investing here. Buying a property doesn’t make someone “less deserving” because they weren’t born here. Blaming foreigners instead of questioning the actual economic issues is just ignorance.
