@thetranscendjournal: I didn’t realize I was only getting one perspective until I started reading outside it. Watch till the end for 5 non-western economists’ contributions that’d be a good place to start. Most economics degrees don’t tell you they’re doing this. The canon just gets handed to you as “how economies work”, not as one intellectual tradition among several. That framing matters. Economics isn’t physics. It makes claims about human behavior, development, and how societies should be organized. When one group builds all those models, you get one set of assumptions baked in as default, along with their blindspots and biased. This matters because they shape real policy, applied to places and people the models were never built for. And we wonder why our models often yield inaccurate predictions. I made this account to explore the perspectives we weren’t taught in Western economics education, because the canon is not the whole picture. Thiiiss … THIS ! THIS ! THIS ! I want a PhD in economics but I want it specifically in Marxist economics and it’s not really taught at that depth at higher institutions of learning. And I want my PhD to be further specified within my industry.

I am studying in South Africa at TUT. I have always felt like the theories I am being taught don't make sense or can be translated to fit Africa development, but I couldn't substantiate my reasoning so I dismissed my thoughts.
We always use the USA as the benchmark, on how to run an economy, but economics at its essence studies human behaviour and we include the focus on better living standards as the economy grows, but in the US that is not the case. GDP per capita is up there as the highest or one of the highest but it does not relate the living standards that we see on the Internet.
Another thing, we were quick to dismiss Karl Marx prediction on how they will end up hold the FOP and leaving the people to live off , but in current time, in the US, I am seeing that happen( maybe my analysis is wrong)

okay so is the logic behind the economic theories flawed or not? if not, people who discovered it is does not matter, only logic matters.

Economics does not define how societies should be organized (that’s political like communism) economics is the study of what to do with what you have; or dealing with scarcity; most the models you recommend as alternatives don’t jive with experiment and observations

no canonical model will survive 1st contact with reality😂😂😂😂😂 They are the stripped down foundational frameworks for analyzing economic phenomenon They represent the starting point for the analysis of complex phenomenon.

I recently saw a bits of Pierre Poilievre (who is conservative) on Joe Rogan. To my surprise he critisized similar phenomena as Karl Marx did in 19th century. Here is the summary (AI) of his arguments:
Poilievre argued that high inflation creates a "wealth transfer from the have-nots to the have-yachts".The "Elites" & Wall Street: He claimed that money printing inflates the stock market, directly benefiting CEOs whose stock values rise and wealthy investors who own real assets.Governments & Bureaucrats: Poilievre stated that politicians benefit because inflation allows them to spend devalued money while "inflating the bureaucracy".Large Debtors: He noted that those closest to the initial flow of "new money"—primarily governments and large financial institutions—benefit before the currency loses its value in the broader economy.

You are making profound and insightful comments. You should make individual videos about each of the alternative economic theorists that you mention.

Yeah econ isn’t just maths, but really using maths to solve our logistical issues as a society, economics functions as the logistics of a truly political society. The human component to economics is what makes hard to predict and possibly why we would need the help of humanity subjects in conjunction with the mathematics to really move things forward.

In NZ we have Marilyn Waring who’s an economist who writes from a feminist point of view. She has done detailed research on Work who does it and whether it is paid or not. She influence my view on economics in general.

Economics is value free. It does not make per prescriptions about how society ought to be, it just tells you about people and scarcity. Also the contributions of economists you mentioned are not something unknown to the mainstream. For example, it’s pretty widely accepted that something like Tarrifs are conditionally beneficial/harmful to a state depending on their stage of economic development
