@triplet713: In May 1998, Indonesia faced a major crisis known as the Reformasi movement. The country was hit by a severe economic collapse during the Asian Financial Crisis. Prices of food and basic goods skyrocketed, and many people lost their jobs. Students began protesting against President Suharto, who had ruled Indonesia for over 30 years. They demanded reform, an end to corruption, and democracy. The protests grew bigger across cities like Jakarta. On May 12, 1998, four students were shot and killed at Trisakti University, which made the situation even more intense. Riots broke out between May 13–15. There was violence, looting, and many buildings were burned. Hundreds of people died, and many were injured. #fyppppppppppppppppppppppp #educationalpurposes #tragedi1998 #demo #riot
