The problem is that £130k salary means not qualifying for free childcare hours, no child benefit, and increased taxation! On top of that, probably the ONLY place in the UK you're earning at that level is in London - which is EXPENSIVE to live in. That being said, your mortgage is a lot less than I expected

yess its a lot of money but ppl arent understanding £100k used to mean you shouldn’t have to worry about a thing financially how can you now be earning a top 10% salary and be priced out its insane uk has a real issue with salary stagnancy

What are people actually tripping on? She just explained the biggest two things the salary go to! What, they should buy a one bed apartment so they “make it work”? When you earn that much you loose a lot of the “benefits” no childcare hours, tax band ridiculously high etc! Where is the confusion coming from?

It’s the fact someone on over 100k doesn’t get any help with childcare. 2 people earning 135k with neither earning over £100k would get childcare help which does not make any sense!
