@thecountertruth: Is SelectRx a legitimate pharmacy? Apparently they do have appropriate licensing. However, patient experiences seem to be very poor. #pharmacy #selectrx
we won’t transfer at all, we tell patients that if they want their prescriptions filled through select rx they need to have their doctor call their prescriptions in there.

When they fax us transfer requests it’s always “Joe Marasco, VP of Pharmacy” listed as the pharmacist. Like are you the only pharmacist Joe?????

Whenever they call me for a transfer, I ask them to please hold. Then I leave them on hold until they eventually hang up. They never took “no, we are no longer transferring medications to this pharmacy due to x reasons” so now I just enjoy wasting their time

Same thing at our pharmacy! I finally started telling select rx “I have to confirm this with my patient, if they confirm I will send it”. They don’t call near as much anymore!

As a mail order tech, they are very aggressive. If a pt clicks a link or answers one phone call, they authorize all rxs transfers to SelectRx. So much that we have to call the pt and confirm if they actually authorized SelectRx to do so. 90% say they didn’t!

as a former selectrx pharmacist, avoid transferring to them. and if your patients do approve it, try to talk them out of it. they operate off of extremely unsafe practices and do not care about anything but the bottom dollar

i do med management for a providers office. every time i get a request from them and the patient was already using another pharmacy, i call the patient to verify before i send their prescriptions out. They also won’t close out requests until the patient calls them to do so. So you can imagine the nightmare they be

I’m wondering how they get patients info if patients have never reached out to transfer. How does HIPPA play into this?

I always contact the patient first to make sure they know what they are getting into. I've never had one patient to agree to transferring to Select Rx.

I started telling them I would not transfer any scripts without talking to the patient. I no longer receive calls for transfers.

I believe selectrx became the default pharmacy for some Medicare plans this year. The pt has to go in and change it or call their pbm to remove it

We call the patient before transferring anything to them. Not 1 patient has said they’ve given them authorization to transfer.

They are persistent. We get calls for the same patient like once a week and we tell them the patient didn’t authorize the scripts to transfer out. Now I just ignore the requests.

Every time they call for a transfer, I demand to speak to another pharmacist and then they say that they have all the information I need and that I don’t need the pharmacist. But I insist for another pharmacist. They always immediately hang up on me

I tell them I’m calling the pt and if they want the transfer, I’ll send it. If they don’t get a fax, then the it didn’t want it.

And they lose the refills. We send 3 months (only on patient’s who insist) an they call back a week later asking for refills again. We tell them to check their system and they can’t find anything.

we used to call the pt but they were always in the dark about it so now we either just put them.on hold and leave them there or we tell them we'll send it over but never do.

They need to start calling the patients to verify they want it transferred… my rph asked them to put a pharmacist on the call and they said they were busy or put them on hold for a long time
