There is a reason why people blow on ice cream to "cool it down". It's an innate trigger in the brain from knowing it's an extreme temperature. The nervous system has a differential between extreme hot and cold, but the brain doesn't. So it subconsciously triggers the "This is extreme temperature, I know what to do!" and people blow on it. It's just a crossed signal.
