What people today fail to understand is back then whole villages were predominantly one religion. This back and forth retribution was the rule of the day. Has little to do with Jew vs Christian. It’s human nature. Hitler was asked early on why he chose the Nazi party and his answer was simple. The two biggest parties were Marxist Leninist Hard Core Communism or Nazism. There was no middle ground. The Nazis were more cleverly treacherous and they won out. But it was a matter of Survival for most. There was simply no 3rd option. Again. Human Nature. Piranha in a puddle. Rats in a barrel. It’s not rocket science.
