My family has an heirloom ring where all the diamonds from previous wedding rings are twisted into this pretty filigree pattern. Its beautiful!

From royals to regular people jewelry has been inherited, reconstructed, passed down, and changed again for literal centuries. The beauty of metals and precious gems is that they CAN be altered and given new life and new stories. My grandmother always said, stuff is just stuff. You don’t care about it unless it meant something to you personally. She is most likely the last generation to know her grandmother.
