@mckinnongalloway: Science made simple | don’t store meds in bathroom Most people store their medication in the bathroom… but that’s actually one of the worst places for it. Here’s the science: Medications are tested in controlled environments before they ever reach you. Most are designed to stay stable at around room temperature (about 68–77°F) with low humidity. That’s how they determine the expiration date and make sure the dose you’re taking actually works. Your bathroom is the opposite of that. Every time you shower, humidity spikes. Heat rises. Then everything cools back down. That constant cycle of moisture + temperature changes can slowly break down medications over time. Tablets can absorb moisture. Capsules can soften. Some ingredients can degrade. So even if your medication looks completely normal… it may not be working the same. That’s the part most people don’t realize. Now are there exceptions? Yes, a few. Some tightly sealed liquid medications are a little less sensitive, and things you use very quickly (like certain daily-use items) are less likely to be affected before you finish them. But even then, it’s still not the recommended storage environment. The safest move is simple:Store your medication somewhere cool, dry, and consistent…like a bedroom drawer or cabinet. It’s a small change… but it makes sure what you’re taking actually works the way it’s supposed to. #nf2 #endnf #medicine #chronicillness #pain
We utilize a vintage medicine cabinet that contains multiple shelves to split meds and first-aid supplies in one location. Great advice from your post!
