it compares only homicide rates though, so generalizing it for all types of crimes is wrong. and the first sentence itself says it's difficult to estimate victimization rates.

The often repeated 'statistic' that trans people are victims of violence and m*rders is based upon a 16 year study of trans s*x workers in Brazil. S*x work alone is inherently dangerous, s*x work in Brazil while being a man presenting as a woman seems to be more so. The study has nothing to do with the daily reality of a 1st world trans yet it's been used as a cudgel to silence women into allowing men into our private spaces. It's time the record is set straight.

The report doesn't show that trans people are more likely to be criminals than non trans people or more likely to be perpetrators than victims. It just shows that they are less likely to be victims of violence than non trans women.
