@polkfarms: there are days where I think homesteading is 15 full time jobs… let’s be real I seriously woke up this morning to two meat pigs that were running around my front yard and a cow that was helping herself to my garden. BEFORE I had even fixed a cup of coffee (really I need to start filming those days) 😅 But the work and difficult days are 100% worth it. It has made me so much more appreciative of how amazing God created this world and the beauty behind it all. Homesteading is HARD WORK. Truly. my favorite is when people tell me its not necessary to grow the scale of food we do. 🙄 if we want to eat through the winter it most certainly is. I have seen a lot of people talk about companion planting and intercropping but I haven't seen much about the actual arrangement of garden beds. so maybe more in depth plans of what goes well together with an actual visual for it

I think the first questions people need to ask, is where are they now, where do they want to be, and what is the true definition of what they have. Are they a homestead, a hobby farm, or an agrarian. then look where they want to go with it. How much time do you work at a job to go buy groceries? you will probably find that you send far less time making groceries, so you will have far more time to do other things like raise your children instead of shipping them off to the best day care "you can afford".
