I knew I always wanted to be a mother, but after becoming one, my respect for women who can say “nah, not for me!” Increased immensely! I love my babies, but knowing and accepting that kids aren’t for you is one of the most honorable things you can do!

I clearly remember my HS English teachers telling us that she didn’t want children of her own. There was an audible gasp in the classroom. This was 50 years ago. The first thing I thought was, I don’t have to have kids?!! Hooray! From that day on I told everyone, I’m not having children. I was 30 before my mom believed me. I love kids. There’s nothing better than when a baby smiles at you. I just never had any desire to own my own. I’ve always been selfish with my time.
