@zozoakz: High prices is not inflation, it’s companies finding loopholes to convince you these prices are normal. The government shouldn’t let your future income be owned by a company.
Heavy on the subscriptions. Why was Netflix, Disney, paramount, etc $5 when they first started. Now they are pushing $30 EACH! (Except for paramount) Now you have car companies wanting a subscription to use the radio, cruise control and all this other stuff? Who’s to say they won’t raise their prices. Subscriptions are getting wayy too out of hand. This “you’ll own nothing and be happy” is bullshit

Yes! Why are we acting like having afterpay as an option for things like groceries or food delivery is normal! If there’s enough need for this because people can’t afford their groceries in one payment there’s an ISSUE.

Also there NEEDS to be a cap on interest. Interest should not make people into permanent debt slaves. Once interest has made you pay back whatever you owe + half the original amount you should be done. None of this “I’ve been paying my student loans and after years of making the payments I still owe my original loan amount.”

I think they should also cap the cost of rent and only allow an increase in cost if they are providing things in addition to basic housing. oh it has in unit laundry you can add a little more. but there's no reason a regular old one bedroom should be near 2k

I'm fine with afterpay but maybe that's because I don't use it. I do think subscriptions should legally be required to auto cancel after a period of non-use.

I agree, however people have the power. We’ve been manipulated to think we need to compete with our neighbors, we need to post our new vehicles , our concert seats our trips to Cabo to project illusion of wealth. They’ve done this for decades but social media has exploded the “keep up with the jones” after pay and Klarna is a product of that, not a cause.

companies realized $10 a month psychologically tricks your brain into being "cheaper". not saying it's right it's just a trick that ends up being more long term per product and compounded across all services
