i've seen two Brandon Rogers videos, and just from the way he did the makeup on the characters he was playing, I just knew in the back of my mind that he did black face at some point

Something that a lot of non black fans aren’t getting is that Brandon Rogers HIMSELF has been very open about the video. He said “it was wrong, it hurt people and racism isn’t comedy”. He took the video down, he has been open about his past videos and how he’s not proud of it but all he can do is apologize, take the videos down and move forward. Accountability and not trying to give himself a pass is why I’M able to move past this. He didn’t try the “oh it’s old YouTube culture” and “everyone was doing it”. Something that non black fans are trying to do. And that’s why the SITUATION is making me mad because once again non black fans are trying to accept an apology that isn’t theirs to accept. Or make excuses that even Brandon himself didn’t try to deflect with

Truthfully I can’t forgive or not forgive him as I’m not black but like I don’t judge anyone who doesn’t forgive him because truly I understand it’s hurtful. But also no one can judge anyone who would support him and forgive him because he DID apologize and acknowledge how wrong it was- and he was 19 which is not even fully developed. I personally do support him because of that but I feel bad for people who are being hurt by this because it sucks.
