SOUTH KOREA LAW product labeling:
ZERO SUGAR = less than 0.5g sugar per 100g/100ml.
ZERO CALORIE = less than 4 Kcal per 100g/100ml.
So drinks can show '0/ZERO SUGAR' or '0/ZERO Kcal' on the front label, but Nutrition Facts on the back shows the real numbers.
Example, ZERO SUGAR canned drink is about 15 kcal.
ZERO Kcal ice cream is around 3-5 kcal.
Light food products, it’s about 100 kcal per 100g/100ml
SNACKS, CHOCOLATE, CANDY can just use 'ZERO' in the name.
That usually means SUGAR-FREE, but FAT and CARBS stay.🫠
