Battle Scars of a King – This morning on safari, our guests encountered a sight that was as dramatic as it was touching. A magnificent male lion emerged from the bush with fresh wounds on his leg.💔 He looked like a warrior just off the battlefield. We suspect he earned these injuries in a fierce nighttime showdown – perhaps defending his territory from rival lions, or even fighting off a pack of hyenas determined to steal his hard-won meal. Such encounters are part of a lion’s life in the wild, where every day is a fight for survival . Despite his cuts and a slight limp, this resilient male walked with the pride of a king. 🦁💪 Nature can be harsh – lions live dangerous lives, facing buffalo horns, hyena jaws, and the claws of other lions in their quest to reign over the savannah. We make sure our guests understand these raw realities of the wild, even as we all root for the animals’ well-being. Our team of rangers immediately kept a close watch on him. As soon as our vehicle moved on, they notified the reserve’s wildlife vet unit about his condition. 🦸‍♂️👩‍⚕️ (Don’t worry, help was on the way!)
