Thank you for this practical advice. I was so disciplined with my wife and we raised £60k in less than 2 years and bought our lovely 3 bedroom mortgage for £370k. In that time, we told ppl back home to look elsewhere for financial help. Most didn’t like us for that time but we did not care. 😃😃😃

Nice calculation but with a little more strategic move, that 24k can be turned to £28K if they put it in a LISA account. So I’d suggest they put the first 16K saved in the LISA account, £4K per year to make £1000 extra from the government. The £16K gets them £4000 in two years. Then plus the £8K from the remain monthly £500 savings to get £28,000. Smart move

That is what am doing with my wife, saved 1500 every month. Using 500 pounds to do projects in Nigerian and saved the 1k pounds for uk mortgage.

@smartmindcomics: Yes it possible! Then put the money in LISA like MoneyBox to get 25% of government bonus and some accrued daily interest. So for instance if you safe £24,000 in LISA for 2yrs government will add £6000 plus daily interest. So in that 2years your total fund will be £30,000 plus. Which it is enough for you to buy your first property ( Mortgage )
