Let’s be honest, that’s not just ‘trust’ that’s relationship. Trust alone doesn’t get you inventory on credit from someone who doesn’t know you. Even if you’re the most honest person alive, a random supplier won’t hand you goods without collateral or history. What you had was access built on relationship, and that’s a big advantage. Nothing wrong with it, but let’s call it what it is.

I have customers interstate that I supply shoes worth hundreds of thousands of Naira on credit, but that’s because they came off as trustworthy and I’ve seen their capacity to even buy more….It is still very risky because I’ve never met some of these customers in person, just referrals, but TRUST has a way of creating a soft landing. Business is really not easy, just find a way to create a solid network of people!
